    Excursion Description

Sea Trek St Maarten is a unique and exciting way to discover the underwater world. The tour takes approximately 2,5 hours . You start with a 15 minute boat ride to Little Bay, where you will receive a safety briefing on the platform. There is a maximum of 12 people that can go underwater simultaneous, with a minimum of two staff members in the water to secure the safety of all guests.

While you are under water, air will continuously come into your helmet through low pressure hoses. The air pressure inside keeps the water at around shoulder height, which means you can wear prescription glasses and most of the time your hair stays dry. Guided by the safety diver, you climb down a ladder to reach the ocean floor, 20ft down. The track, a 300ft long loop, takes you past both natural and artificial reefs, such as a submarine, canons salvaged from Fort Amsterdam and a real helicopter. You are also invited to interact with some of the local sea creatures along the way. The underwater trek itself takes approximately 25-30 minutes to complete.

Once back on the platform, there will be an opportunity to buy photos taken of you during your Sea Trek. Also available for purchase are tee shirts, bottled water, sodas and snacks. There’s some room to store your belongings (not secured). It’s recommended to put on your bathing suit prior to the tour because there’s no changing room or restroom available on the platform.

To be able to participate in Sea Trek, you need to be at least 8 years old, able to walk and climb a ladder, and you should be in good overall physical condition. Before the tour, we ask you to sign a waiver. There is no swimming involved, so even if you can’t swim this tour is open to you! Sea Trek is not recommended for guests with physical disabilities, a pacemaker, claustrophobia or women over 3 months pregnant. You need to be able to clear your ears.

Please note that we don’t give refunds if you don’t complete the walk to your own decision or if you can’t clear your ears.
